Walsh School of Foreign Service at He is an expert on issues surrounding global terrorism including terrorism in the Middle East, the U.S. War on Terror, intelligence and fighting the War on Terror, the practice of suicide bombing, terrorist groups including al-Qaeda, Hezbollah and Hamas, Osama bin Laden, state sponsored terrorism, counterterrorism tactics, strategies for dealing with terrorists who take hostages, the relationship between Syria and Lebanon, the spread of democracy in the Middle East, Iran and development of nuclear weapons and weapons of mass destruction, the War in Iraq, Iraqi insurgency, the practice of renditions, U.S. national security, international security, ethnic conflict, and the use of military force around the globe and its impact on international relations.
