Paul Shukovsky PaulShukovsky@seattlepi.com Paul Shukovsky covers federal courts and federal investigative agencies for the Seattle Post-Intelligencer where he has been a reporter since 1990. He has also covered indigenous tribes for the P-I. He previously worked as a reporter for The Miami Herald, The Tampa Tribune, UPI and as a public television news producer/anchor. Shukovsky has written numerous investigative stories for the P-I including pieces on national security investigations, police misconduct and the government policies that declare still vital Indian tribes "extinct." Shukovsky, a licensed mental health counselor, has worked in various volunteer roles as a psychotherapist at the Seattle Indian Health Board and the 45th St. Clinic and as a disaster mental health specialist with the American Red Cross. He has been deployed to disasters in Florida, Iowa and Washington. In 1999, Shukovsky was an International Red Cross Delegate in Kosovo where he helped start a program of psychological support for genocide survivors. |
